Estelle Bingham: Leading With Love
In this week’s episode of Happy Place, Fearne Cotton sits down with Estelle Bingham, a spiritual guide and healer who - if you ask Fearne - “does something beautiful and unusual” that’s hard to define but powerful and heart-felt.
Estelle was introduced to transcendental meditation at the age of six and her deep connection to the soul’s journey has been a guiding force throughout her life. While what she does might be tricky to explain, Fearne sums it up beautifully:
“it’s a guide, I guess, to working out what’s really going on within you… when so many of us numb or block out emotion.”
Their conversation is part soul talk, part emotional deep-dive and fully human. Together, they explore the importance of listening to the heart, healing emotional wounds and learning to care for the parts of ourselves we’ve neglected, particularly the inner child who still needs to be seen.
FEELING IS THE GATEWAY
One of Estelle’s most grounded beliefs is that true healing doesn’t begin with logic, it begins with feeling. Our culture often glorifies the mind and sidelines emotions but Estelle gently reminds us that pushing away our pain only keeps us stuck: “if we don’t feel, we don’t heal,” she says.
Estelle shares how, growing up, her sensitivity was misunderstood but – ultimately - it became her greatest asset. The ability to feel deeply, she says, isn’t something to fix, it’s something to honour. “Your heart is your most intelligent organ,” she tells Fearne. “It knows exactly what you need.”
Fearne reflects on how many conversations around mental health, even on Happy Place, tend to lean toward the cerebral. This episode is a reminder not to forget “the poor old heart,” and the pair discuss neurocardiology (the interactions between the nervous system and the heart).
TURNING IN TO OUR YOUNGER SELVES
At the centre of Estelle’s approach is inner child healing - the idea that many of our adult struggles are rooted in unmet emotional needs from childhood. Whether it’s perfectionism, people-pleasing or shame, these patterns often stem from the times when we didn’t feel seen or safe.
“There’s a part of us that’s still waiting to be loved in the way we needed back then,”
She encourages us to tune in and ask our younger selves: What did I need to hear? What made me feel small? Rather than bypassing these emotional truths, Estelle invites us to hold space for them with compassion, not judgment.
Together, she and Fearne reflect on whether we really do need to revisit childhood in order to heal. Estelle’s answer? A resounding yes, if we want to feel whole.
THE TRUTH ABOUT MANIFESTING
Estelle’s new book, Manifest Your True Essence, is due out this April and Fearne is quick to admit that her own relationship with manifesting has been a bit rocky. “I sway between thinking manifesting is the best thing since sliced bread to thinking it’s a load of old shit,” she laughs. Estelle, however, offers a beautifully grounded answer that makes it all click.
“It’s not about asking the universe for a car. It’s about aligning with your truth. Manifesting begins with emotion. It begins with you.”
They also laugh over Estelle’s opinion on social media-style manifesting posts: “a lot of old cobblers,” she calls them. The real magic, Estelle explains, isn’t about forcing an outcome. Instead, it’s about expressing your true emotions and feeling worthy of the life you desire. That includes happiness, love and peace. These are things that don’t just arrive with vision boards but with vulnerability and honesty.
A NEW KIND OF POWER
Estelle and Fearne talk about what it means to live from the heart, rather than the ego. It’s not about detaching from the world but learning to move through it in a more authentic, soul-led way.
“It’s time for a new kind of power - one that comes from the heart, not the ego.”
This episode is soft yet impactful, spiritual yet practical. It reminds us that healing doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic but can happen in quiet moments, through deep listening and gentle reconnection.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, disconnected or like your emotions are too much, this episode will speak to you in the best way. And if you’ve ever questioned manifesting, this might just be the conversation that changes your perspective.
