‘A few years ago, I was handed a schedule that I had already signed off. When I looked at it, I went into a deep state of panic. Not only was my calendar so full that I would have to cross continents on a bi-monthly basis and attend ceremonies for my grandfathers 100 day funeral. At first I wanted to give it al up and call around to the people I made commitments to, including my family, with my excuses. But in that moment I decided I would meditate on awe for the whole year.

Not only did I manage to get though, but I had a blast of a year! At the end of the year, as I was settling into my ride towards my next destination, a friend sent me an article on the proven effects of cultivating awe. That was the seal that I needed to wrap up my year’.

Calligraphy requires you to slow down, allowing you to create a space of self-care and to let your mind unwind. Simple to learn, brush-pen calligraphy is the perfect escape as you focus on the rhythm of the letter strokes.

This fun and informal workshop is run by The Modern Calligraphy Co and you’ll be amazed at how soothing it is to learn how to create energetic lettering. By the end of the session, you will have created your own motivational mantra to take home.

It doesn’t matter if your handwriting is terrible or you’re not artistic. The fun thing is that it doesn’t need to be perfect; it’s the imperfections that make it so human -that's the appeal.

Yin Yoga is a practice where postures are held for longer than in a more active class - typically a minute or more. This length of time is used to open into the thicker layers of connective tissues around the joints that a moving, dynamic practice may not as effectively access.

During this time of stillness, the physical, energetic, emotional and mental states of being are refined and aligned through heightened inner awareness. When this inner awareness is allowed to grow in stillness, knowledge is gained in maintaining a quiet and concious state at all times; whether the external environment is one of calm or chaos.

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to a dynamic (Yang) style practice and an extremely subtle and profound practice on its own, as through holding postures for sustained periods of time, we examine limits and explore potentials. The focus is on feeling as through practice we develop attentiveness and refine awareness. The practice is available to all wishing to slow down and soften.
